John Russel (Rusty) Vanneman, CFA, CMT is the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for Kobren Insight Management.

Rusty has been in the investment business since 1990. Rusty was the Managing Director, Co-Portfolio Manager and Director of Research at Kobren Insight Management, Inc. (KIM) before E*TRADE Financial acquired KIM in 2005. Rusty serves on the Kobren Insight Management Portfolio Review Committee. Rusty was also a Portfolio Manager for the former Kobren Insight Funds as well the former Alumni Partners, a hedge fund. Prior to joining KIM, Rusty was a Senior Analyst at Fidelity Management and Research Company's Strategic Advisors. Previously, Rusty was a Managing Analyst for Thomson Financial's Thomson Global Markets. In his spare time, he serves on the Babson College Board of Overseers, the Foundation Board for the Food Bank of Lincoln as well as for the Foundation Board of First-Plymouth Congregational Church. He is also involved in the Teammates mentoring program.

Rusty received a B.S. in Management from Babson College in 1988, where he graduated with High Distinction. Rusty holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. He is also a Chartered Market Technician (CMT) and a member of the Market Technician's Association.
